The star is devising a routine that would make Mr Motivator proud.
Her spoof sweat-a-thon is being lined up for the Christmas market.
It will aim to help couch potatoes shift the festive flab.
A source revealed: 'Miranda is a woman of many talents.
'But even her biggest fans will be surprised that she is doing this workout DVD. Washboard stomachs and finely toned biceps are not something you would normally associate with her.
'But whatever the routine ends up being, there is one thing that it will definitely be - funny.'
Miranda joins a host of stars who have released fitness DVDs, including Davina McCall, Natalie Cassidy and Jennifer Ellison.
The comic is no stranger to exercise, having completed a 1,000-mile bike ride from John O'Groats to Land's End for Comic Relief in 2010. She said at the time: 'I was very sporty at school but things have gone downhill since.
'Suddenly I was forced into training sessions which involved very worrying terms like 'squats', 'lunges' and 'core muscles'.
'It turns out I had no muscles at all - we couldn't find them.'
Miranda, right, who stars in her self-titled sitcom and BBC drama Call The Midwife, has a string of other projects lined up.
She is preparing for a stand-up comedy tour next year - and is even in talks to appear in a movie.
This week, BBC controller of comedy commissioning Shane Allen revealed she is in the middle of a hectic schedule.
And fans could face a two-year wait for a fourth series of Miranda.
He said: 'It's a way off yet.
'She is really, really busy.
'There isn't even time to make a Christmas special this year.'
