NH tech to plead guilty in hepatitis C outbreak

FILE - This undated file photo provided by the U.S. Attorney's Office in New Hampshire shows David Kwiatkowski, a former lab technician at Exeter, N.H., Hospital. Kwiatkowski, accused of infecting dozens of patients with hepatitis C through tainted needles, told investigators he had been stealing drugs for more than a decade and was "killing a lot of people," according to a plea agreement filed Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, that would send him to prison for 30 to 40 years. (AP Photo/U.S. Attorney's Office, File) CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — In his five-year career as a traveling medical technician, the longest that David Kwiatkowski ever stayed in one place was the 13 months he spent at New Hampshire's Exeter Hospital. He's now spent an equal amount of time in jail, and his next stop will be federal prison for far longer.
