U.S. President Obama meets with his national security and public health team to receive an update on the Ebola response while in the Roosevelt Room at the White House in Washington WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama will ask the U.S. Congress to approve $6.2 billion in new funds this fiscal year to combat Ebola in West Africa and the United States, according to officials familiar with the request. The money will be designated as "emergency" funds and thus technically not subject to an equal amount of savings from other programs, according to one official.
