Promising New Drug Combination Kills Glioblastomas in Mice

University of Zurich researchers have come up with a new drug combination that kills brain tumors known as glioblastomas in mice. Medical News Today indicates that the drug combo works by boosting the immune response in mice. A glioblastoma claimed the life of Sen. Ted Kennedy in 2009, according to the NY Daily News. Glioblastomas are aggressive tumors originating from astrocytes, which are cells shaped like stars that comprise the supportive tissue of the human brain.
